Ask and Act

Guidance for practitioners and managers on how to ‘Ask and Act’.

Violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence are large scale, pervasive problems. Every year they cause needless deaths and damage to thousands of lives across Wales.

A more consistent approach to identifying violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence is required across Wales. Public services have an important role to play in supporting clients and strengthening the services they receive.

The Welsh Government has introduced the ‘National Training Framework on Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence’ to key public specialist service providers. ‘Ask and Act’ represents Groups 2 and 3 of that Framework.

‘Ask and Act’ is a principles based approach to targeted enquiry. Its aim is to increase identification and support for those who experience violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence.

This guidance attached to this page will assist practitioners and managers in implementing ‘Ask and Act’ in their relevant authority.
